Among the golf and country clubs in the Brandon area, Buckhorn Springs stands out for its rich tradition, friendly atmosphere, and challenging greens. Formed in 1965 by course designer Harris Green, Buckhorn opened for play in 1968 as a private course. In fact, Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club is the oldest private club in Brandon, FL.

Several times a week there are ready-made games in which members can participate. Ready-made games are allotted tee times where players are paired up by drawing and intentionally mingled with individuals coming to play. In addition, Buckhorn Springs hosts active men’s and women’s associations that meet monthly and weekly, respectively.
